‘My Dad Ate the Sixties’ - Jazz Williams

Jazz’s early music education was delivered by Bonnie Raitt, The Trio, Robin Ford, Etta James, Archie Roach, Paul Simon, Indigo Girls, Jeff Buckley, Bondi Cigars, Kate Bush and other notable performers who made you either dance or wonder.

Jazz was in her early teen years when she learned to play guitar, inspired by her mum who was a musician in local bands on the far south coast of NSW.

Performing since she was 15, Jazz always enjoyed songwriting and is still committed to the practice. Singing with her sister Alice ensured an early crash course in vocal harmonies that continue to be a feature of Jazz’s musical arrangements - alt pop tunes that follow classic song structures as often as they don’t.

With a background in radio and audio production, Jazz records and produces most of her own material at her home studio, STUDIO 4089, allowing an intermittent and relaxed creative process. Jazz continues to build skills in this field and recorded and mixed a number of tracks on her debut solo album, Stationed, produced in 2022 with support from Create NSW.
